The Secretary and Chief Accountant of the Delta
State Scholarship Board, Peter Amromanoh and Andrew Boji Nkwor, have
been arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), for defrauding the agency to the tune of N169 million while they were in office.
The duo were docked before Justice C. O Emifoniye of the Delta State High Court, Asaba on a 5-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.
In
a press release signed by the EFCC Head of Publicity and Media, Wilson
Uwujare, the two accused had, between 2008 and 2012, stolen the money
which was meant for the payment of Bursary to students of Delta State
origin studying in various institutions of higher learning in the 2008
to 2010 sessions by fraudulently paying same to ghost students, thereby
converting the money to themselves.
