A female Electrical Engineering student at the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Ufurum Precious Chichi, has constructed an automatic gate control as her final year project.
Ufurum did the project in pursuance of a Higher National Diploma Certificate (HNDII), Daily Trust reports.
She
said her with her invention, which is suitable for banks,
parts,
supermarkets, hospitals and other establishments, a gateman will not be
needed to open the gate manually, because it opens automatically after
sensing the presence of a car or person.
According
to the student, the automatic gate control has a micro copula control
that works with other part of the circuit, alarm unit, motor unit, power
supply, sensor unit that makes the gate open after sensing that a
person or car is close to the gate.
Ufurum's project supervisor, Engr. Abdulraheem Abdulaziz, said a Close Circuit Television (CCTV) and counter should be fitted to the control for security purposes.
