Tinubu's influence in Nigeria 2015 presidential election as a godfather was deeply analysed by international daily newspaper Financial Times.

According to the paper, Tinubu is deeply Machiavellian and a master strategist who has cannily built a political empire among ethnic Yorubas in Lagos and the south west and built a reputation for himself just like that of late Obafemi Awolowo.
