A 26-year-old student, Ehis Peter, has been arraigned for beating a man to coma and stealing his valuable items.
Ehis, a resident of Kubwa, Abuja, and his accomplices allegedly beat up one Oluwatosin Godwin to a state of coma and made away with his cash and iPhones.
The suspect was arraigned before Judge Mohammed Marafa of a Grade 1 Area Court sitting in Abuja on charges bordering on criminal force, assault and theft.
The offences contravened Sections 79, 265 and 286 of the Penal Code.
According to the Police prosecutor, Lukas Ephraim, the victim reported at the Kubwa Police Station
on the 19 of March that the suspect and other still at large, beat him
to a state of comma after which they carted away his iPhones worth
N204,000 and a wallet containing N6,730 in cash.
The accused pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
Judge Marafa granted Ehis bail in the sum of N100,000 with one reasonable surety resident around the location of the court
