The family of a 24-year-old
Accountant who graduated from the department of Banking and Finance at
the Abia State University, Anita Oluchi Okore, are still to come to
terms with the fact that she is no more after her dismembered body was
recovered few days after she was murdered by suspected ritual killers in
Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The young lady who
worked
as an Accountant at Unity FM based in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State,
according to the family, had gone to visit her older sister whose family
lives in Port Harcourt in April, 2015, when she unfortunately ran into
the ritualists.
According to her distraught
father, Anita had managed to place a call to him when she was in the
taxi with the men intimating him of her predicament and had even given
the phone to her killers so that they could hear the plea of the old man
but all his pleadings fell on deaf ears as they still went ahead to
kill her.
From information pieced together by the
family, Anita had, on getting to Port Harcourt, boarded a taxi that was
supposed to take her to her sister's place, not realising that she was
taking a last ride as the men in the taxi turned out to be ritual
killers. Her parents, Pa Kalu Elem Okore and Angelina, have remained
inconsolable since the death of Anita who was buried on Thursday, May 7,
2015, in Eziobasi, Amodu Ututu, in Arochukwu local government area of
Abia State.
But the family could have a little
consolation as the Directorate of Military Intelligence (DMI), in Port
Harcourt and the police, using Anita's call log, had arrested the
killers in a hotel where they were lavishing N1.5 million paid by their
clients for the body parts of Anita, after weeks of intensive search.
The arrested men led the investigating team to the dump site where they
kept the body Anita with her vital body organs cut off.
