Wina Lia, 40,van Indonesian homeowner has come up with a strange
strategy to find matrimonial success. She has offered to marry whoever
buys, free of charge.
Lia owns a two-bedroom apartment in Sleman district,
just near Yogyakarta city. The house also has a small fish pond and spacious backyard.
The online advertisement had the house's asking price of $76,5000 plus the bonus: “Buyers who don’t negotiate the price can ask the owner to marry (terms and conditions apply).” The ad went viral, with local news agencies tracking Lia down to check if the claim was true. Amazingly, it turned out to be real.
Lia, who is a widow and a single mother, said her realtor came up with the idea after she had expressed a desire to find a partner again. She revealed that she has had trouble finding a suitable man after her husband passed away in 2000. She also said that even though she had gone on a few dates, finding the right man has been difficult.
“My agent suggested I put up the tagline ‘Buy the house and marry the owner at the same time,’” she said. “And I agreed to it. I’m looking for a husband anyway.”
“My goal is that this house be sold. But if I meet another partner, it is important that he be single, whether a bachelor or a widower, responsible and mature,” she explained.
