Today, March 17, 2015, media mogul Ayo Animashaun and pop artiste Terry G celebrate their birthdays. They are not the only birthday boys in town. Upcoming rapper Lil Kesh, and hit producer Sarz also celebrate their birthdays today.
Ayo
Animashaun is the CEO of Smooth Promotions, the media company behind
Hip Hop World Magazine, Hip TV and The Headies. The media mogul turns 45
today. He is one of the leading media bosses in the country. He started
off with Hip Hop World Magazine which was highly influential in its
prime. After establishing the magazine in 1994, he went on to create
Nigeria's most authentic music award ceremony The Headies (then known as
Hip Hop World Awards) in 2006.
The following year
he started Hip TV as a TV programme showing on several TV stations in
Nigeria. In October 2013, Hip TV became a fully fledged cable TV
entertainment station.
In 2010, Terry G won the Best Street Hop for his big hit 'Free Madness Part 2'
at the 2010 Headies. This single was Terry G's breakout single. The
singer known for his eccentric behaviour on and off stage is 29 today.
The self proclaimed 'Ginjah master' has three albums to his credit.
Terry G also shared the same birthday with his mum.
One
act who people tip to strongly contend for the Next Rated Category of
Headies 2015 is the YBNL rapper Lil Kesh. The young rapper who clocks 21
today, was the brain behind one of the biggest hits last year 'Shoki'. His new single 'Gbese' has started picking up steam.
Now,
despite his string of hits super producer Sarz has never won the
prestigious Producer of the Year at the Headies. Clocking 26 today, the
producer has worked with acts such as Wizkid, Burna Boy, eLDee, Da Grin, M.I and others.
